/ The process

Designed before a single cut is made

Every piece starts with a conversation, not a quote. Here is what working together actually looks like.

Overhead study of a wood selection spread — three walnut boards laid side by side on a concrete floor, grain visible, a joinery sample mortise cut into one end, soft north-facing daylight, no props

Stage one

The first conversation

We start by listening. What does the room need, what does the material suggest, what will still feel right in twenty years? If an idea won't hold, we say so — and arrive with alternatives already sketched.

Stage two

Every decision confirmed before the build

Wood selection, joinery method, finish, hardware — you see each choice on paper and in sample before anything is cut. Nothing is assumed; everything is approved.

Stage three

Slow work, one piece at a time

The build runs on the material's schedule, not a production calendar. Joinery that shows takes the time it takes. When it's done, it's done right — and it arrives ready to stay for decades.

Wood has grain and color and movement. We design around them.
